Full Tuition Partial Approval - $939.00

Full tuition of $939 includes required AJJF registration and background check. Current AJJF members will have their registrations extended by one year. The full tuition includes a $75 nonrefundable pre-registration fee. This fee is nonrefundable unless you are not accepted into the program. Daily Rate Partial Approval - $75.00

The daily rate is a per day fee available for those practitioners who would like to participate in the course, but for only a few days or less. Course materials are not included. Participants are encouraged to bring their materials from previous courses. The daily rate also does not include certification from the DZRSI or Wasenshi Kan as a Certified Massage Technician. Wasenshi Kan Martial & Healing Arts is approved by the Danzan Ryu Seifukujitsu Institute (DZRSI), a national massage program that is a division of the American Judo & Jujitsu Federation. The courses are open to all qualified persons, whether or not they are in jujutsu.

Professor Okazaki taught jujutsu and massage to his students, promoting the idea that the fighting spirit should be balanced by the healing spirit. His technique is derived from his training in Japanese restorative techniques as well as traditional Hawaiian bodywork.

Wasenshi Kan Martial & Healing Arts continues a long tradition of passing on Professor Okazaki's legacy.

We are pleased to offer Module 1 of the DZRRT program this year. For jujutsu students, this healing arts class is a valid AJJF mat activity for Black Belt exam purposes. Current AJJF registration and background screening are required, and applications will be available on site. Massage only and temporary AJJF registrations will be available. Successful completion of the full course will lead to certification by the DZRSI and Wasenshi Kan as a Certified Massage Technician.

Module I consists of training on 8 full weekends over 8 months. The weekend dates are as follows:

A daily rate of $75/day is available for students who would like to train only for a few days out of the course. Participation in classes at the daily rate does not lead to certification by the DZRSI or Wasenshi Kan as a Certified Massage Technician.

 

Course Description

Module 1 DZRRT - Basic Course (150 hours)

90 Hours Practical Applications - Practice of the basic massage
25 Hours Anatomy and Physiology
25 Hours History and Theory - Traditional Oriental Medical Theory
10 Hours Ethics, Contraindications, and Hygiene

Prerequisites for Module 1:

High School diploma or equivalent
At least 18 years of age
Registration and clear background check with the American Judo and Jujitsu Federation (massage only and temporary registration available on site)
Ability to attend classes
General good health
Ability to understand and read English

 

Daily Schedule

All Weekends:
Saturdays 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Sundays 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Final weekend only:
Friday 6:00 - 10:00 PM
